For the last few years I have posted my 9 Weird Motorcycles list. The motorcycles of 2018 have not disappointed.

These are motorcycles I stumble upon these as I bounce around on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, etc.. This year I started with 27 bikes but it was not to hard to get them down to nine.

Why 9?  Because everyone does 10 and 11 is to much work!

It is likely that those weird motorcycles that did not make the list will be sprinkled around the IJUSTWANT2RIDE Facebook page.

If you want to check out last years list click here for the 2017 Weird Motorcycles. Just a quick note, these motorcycles may have been around for a few years, but I first noticed them this past year.

If you follow custom motorcycles you have seen Mr. Fairless’s work!  His work has been in multiple motorcycle magazines and he has appeared on TV shows such as Discovery Channel’s Biker Build-Off.

His shop, Strokers Dallas, sells custom motorcycles and also includes a bar and grill.  If you are interested you can also get a tattoo while you are waiting on your burger as Strokers has its own tattoo and piercing parlor.

Rick also has his own Vlog called the DUM ASS Club, check it out when you can.

1) What is the craziest thing you have done on or to a motorcycle?

Rick: In my younger days, back when it was legal, I used to drink beer while I would ride my Super Glide.  Seems kind of crazy now but back in the day it was legal and not that unusual in Texas. 2) What is the third most important thing in your life?

Rick: My 69 Chevy pickup.

3) What “Guinness” type world record would like to break?

Rick: Most consecutive days in a row of play golf.

4) What is the longest trip, by motorcycle, that you have taken?

Rick: Dallas to San Francisco and back.  We kind of made a big loop. It was awesome!

5) Where/what is the number one place you want to vast or ride on a motorcycle?

Rick: Europe!

6) In the movie of your life, who would play you?

Rick: A young Clint Eastwood.

6 1/2) If you could ask yourself and informative, direct, motorcycle related question what would you ask and how would you answer?

Rick: I would ask myself “How did you get started in this business, my answer would be passion.”  I would also ask myself “How have I survived this long in business, my answer would be “get up early, work hard all day and good things will happen!””

Last year I posted my 9 Weird Motorcycles for 2015 and there were some real strange ones on that list.   This year there is just as many wild ones.  I just stumble upon these as I fool around on Twitter, Facebook, Reddit.

A few days ago I posted that I have found so many weird motorcycle candidates this past year that I need to post some of the runners up.  Even with the 3 runners up and the 9 “winners” there were another 10-15 that did not make the cut.  It is likely that those will be sprinkled around the IJUSTWAN2RIDE Facebook page.

So without further ado I present the 9 Weird Motorcycles for 2016!  Which one is your favorite?

Last year I posted my 9 Weird Motorcycles for 2015 and there were some real strange ones on that list.   This year there is just as many wild ones.

I just saved the pictures of the weirdest, custom motorcycles though out the year from Facebook, Twitter and where ever else I ran across them.  The list of candidates for 2016 weird motorcycles was very large so I decided to post about the top “runners-up” in this category.  I will post the weird winners in a few days.

If you have any candidates you would like to submit for the 2017 list of weird motorcycles, just let me know!

I have watched 3 episodes of Discovery’s newest motorcycle themed TV show.  As noted in an earlier blog post this is another in the networks “motorcycle builder” TV show history.  For more you can go to the Discovery Channel’s website to find out more.

Based on the commercials, I did not have a lot of high hopes for the networks newest b2motorcycle TV show.  I expected a late Gen-X or Millennial version of American Chopper.  Motorcycle builds with lots of drama, yelling and some forced “stuff”.

I was right but,  I was wrong too.  These guys seem to get along and honestly like each other.  I think they would be building motorcycles in the same manner whether or not there was a TV crew hanging around.  Jason Wilson, the part time builder the show revolves around, comes across as a good guy who is trying to become a full time builder … but admits he is a terrible businessman.

With that said, you would think that this would be just more motorcycle eye-candy TV…and you would be right.  BUT, I have caught myself genuinely smiling while watching the show.  These guys are having fun doing what they are doing and I am having fun watching them do it.  I recommend you set your DVR to record this latest motorcycle TV show.

I am giving Scared Steel Bikes 4 out of 5 stars.

WyoTech (the motorcycle mechanic school) posted their list of the top ten weirdest custom motorcycles.  For me the “Paul Camo Bike” would be my number one crazy bike because, according to the article, the Air Force actually contemplated making a working fleet of them!

Have you seen even crazier bikes?
