If you have listened to our DawgHouse Motorcycle Radio podcast you would have heard us rant about MotoAmerica. Not so much the racing but the fact that it is so hard to see!

It was on the BEIN network and BEIN just did not have much access to American households.

THAT HAS ALL CHANGED FOR 2019!

MotoAmerica has reached a deal Fox Sports 2, available on almost all cable packages, nearly 57 million home! Fox Sports 2 will offer all 10 rounds Super Bike racing live or same day. Each race will be rerun within 7 days. That is a big upgrade over last year.

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!!

NBC Sports Network is going present “Inside MotoAmerica” with 11 shows of race highlights and features from the MotoAmerica.

MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey stated…. “We’d like to thank NBC Sports for their interest in the MotoAmerica Series and we can’t wait to showcase our racing, personalities and MotoAmerica lifestyle to our fans, both new and established, with a little different flair. We know the shows will be well-received by our fans, our teams, sponsors and racers, and we’re excited to get the season started.”

Inside MotoAmerica will premier Saturday April 13 at 11PM.

BUT WAIT …. EVEN MORE!!!

If you have cut the cable and don’t have access to Fox Sports 2 you can still get all the races!

MotoAmerica Live + is the series live streaming package. If you have internet access you now have race access.

MotoAmerica Live + will provide you with all 10 rounds of the MotoAmerica series plus MA-LiveLogo-vertical-570x356the practice sessions, the qualifying sessions and the races in all five classes. Plus, features, interviews and more in a package that will provide fans with all the on-and off-track action.

If MotoAmerica Live + interests you… The annual package will be available for purchase for a pre-sale price of $49.95 through March 31. After March 31, the season pass will be available for $69.95 with single-event (weekend) packages available for $9.95.

We, at the DawgHouse Motorcycle Radio, have been preaching for a long time the need for this kind of change for fans to have more access. We are on board with the changes and are looking forward to the season.

The first race this year is April 6th from Road Atlanta.

I think the racing in Super Bike in 2019 is going to be AWESOME, but the series NEEDS YOU to step up. Set your DVR or buy the package and watch the races!!!

On this week’s show ……  Supercross kicked off the 2018 season with some great racing.

We open the show talking about the how we like the new format of the race night, and we talk about the new metal girds at the starting line.  Looks like Supercross might be on to something good here!

Moving on to the 250s we talk about the heat races and the final.  The winner, Shane McElrath, look strong all evening and is going to be in the running all season.  Cianciarulo and Plessinger completed the podium.  Phil made an augment that Cianciaurlo is in the west to prepare him to move up to the 450s next season.

The Supercross 450s saw a lot of action with one of the big names, Eli Tomac, not finishing the night due to a crash and saggy pants.  Ken Roczen started is comeback season in decent fashion and Justin Barcia becomes the happiest man in Supercross.

3-Time MotoGP 500cc World Champion and the man who will be spearheading MotoAmerica, Wayne Rainey will be joining the Pack on The Dawghouse, Tuesday night Oct 28th.

Wayne Rainey will forever be remembered as a man who dominated MotoGP in a time when the field was loaded with legends. Now he will also be remembered as a key part in the group that will be revitalizing American road racing.

The Pack is extremely anxious to ask Wayne about the new series, and his dreams and desires for it, plus throw in some old school racing talk. The show runs live on NTNRadio.com from 6-8 pm eastern with a live interactive chatroom on the website for listeners to chime in with their questions and comments. NTNRadio.com is also on the TuneIn app, Shoutcast app and Xiia app for our mobile friends. A podcast of the show will be available within a few hours of the end of the show.

The Dawghouse is a completely irreverent, totally biased, intellectually challenged and scornful study of the twisted life of the motorcycling world and those who inhabit our planet… all wrapped up in a disturbing weekly LIVE broadcast! Listen in every Tuesday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm (Eastern time.) on NTNRadio.com

2014 Harley Davidson FXDL Low Rider

[in your best Scottish accent, aka Mr. Scott from Star Trek] “Cap’n I am given her all I can, but if the engine and frame reach a resonant frequency of 5800 RPMs…the engine could shut down!”

All kidding aside a recall that started in Australia a few weeks ago (and reported on The DawHouse #269) has made it to America.  Apparently it is possible that the engine vibration at 5800 RPMs could cause the ignition switch to move to the ACC position shutting down the motor.  I am sure we all know what could happen if you were doing 80 MPH in the center of a multi-lane highway, just in front of a Tractor Trailer and the engine clicked off….not a pretty picture!

The NHTSA has issued campaign number 14V413000 that affect 3,361 2014.5 Dynas, built between 1/6/2014 and 6/19/2014, in the US (and based on fact that they were recalled in Australia I assume all 2014.5 Dyna motorcycles are affected).

This recall is self-reported by HD.  It first found the problem at the end of March 2014 when a bike turned itself off while on a dynamometer.  Further testing determined that this was a true safety issue and they reported the recall to the NHTSA at the beginning of July.
