Be aware that this motorcycle recall list is for the United States for the last 30 days, there is no way I could cover the entire world. But in the world of global manufacturing, if a motorcycle is being recalled in one country there is a good chance it is under recall in others.

Also, this should not be considered a definitive list, check for yourself if you have any questions.

If you are US based use the NHTSA website http://www.safercar.gov. Enter your VIN number to see if your motorcycle is affected by the recall.

If you are based outside the USA, use the appropriate website to locate recalls that may impact you.

motorcycle fail

OK folks…. just FYI….. If you ride a typical cruiser or touring motorcycle the geometry of the motorcycle requires a much flatter load angle. The bottom of the frame will hit if the angle is to high. This video shows it very very well!

Use this fail video as a “WHAT NOT TO DO” when it comes to loading your bike. Find a location to get a flatter angle, it will just work out better in the end!

Have a motorcycle enthusiast (aka Crazy Biker) on your naughty or nice list?  Here are 9 gift giving ideas to make their 2020 holiday a little bit better.

9. A New Motorcycle Jacket – All equipment gets old and needs to be replaced. Look at the condition of your crazy biker’s jacket does it need to be replaced?  I have been using the Viking Cycle Enforcer Motorcycle Jacket for a couple years now and I am quite happy with it.  Check out my review of this jacket.

8. Motorcycle Art – Ran across this a few months ago on Amazon…your rider’s name spelled out, in pictures of motorcycle parts.  I do not own this, but I might just get one from myself. Check out Personalized Motorcycle Name Art – Harley, Indian, and Honda on Amazon

7. New tie-down straps – Another piece of equipment that gets old, but one that is especially important if your crazy biker tows or hauls their bike(s).  Steal a glance at their current straps, look worn or about to be worn out, get them a new set.

6. Custom Dynamic Motorcycle Lights – Custom Dynamic makes SUPER bright, eye catching lighting for motorcycles.  I have several sets on my bike and wish I had more! In particular, look at the ProBeam LED Motorcycle Turn Signals

ijustwant2ride

These turn signal lights are really DIY

If I could get a commission on every purchase of Custom Dynamic lights I have influenced, I would never have to pay for this website again.

5. A Gift Card – from their favorite local dealership.  That way they can pick out what they want!

4.  New Motorcycle Gloves – Is your crazy biker’s glove a bet nasty? Now is the time to gift them a new pair. Some consideration, vented for warm weather or waterproof for the rainy day?  Or heated for the cold months?

3. Battery Tender – Winter is here in the northern hemisphere. This gift will help your crazy biker be ready to roll the first chance they get. No recommendation, they are almost all good. Just make sure you get the right connection for their motorcycle.

2. A Branded Hat – cause, you know, helmet hair!

1. Membership in the AMA – That is the American Motorcycle Association.  Membership not only gets discounts on products it also includes emergency towing. The AMA is the largest, but not the only, lobbyist group protecting your right to ride.

The DawgHouse Motorcycle Radio…The #1 Motorcycle Show in the US

This week on the show #561 we have MotoAmerica Super Sport Motorcycle Champion Bobby Fong. We discuss his move up to superbike, what is going on during quarantine and general BS.

Mat Mladin makes the news but not in a good way.

When oh when will the motorcycle racing start.

Thank you all!!!!

Holy heck I never really expected to reach this milestone. This is just a blog about motorcycle stuff that interests us. I am surprised that you guys are interested in the same stuff.IMG_20181006_102344822

Now you may have noticed that there has been a …. shortage of articles on rides or trips this summer. Well my wife tore 2 ligaments in her left knee and getting on and off the bike has put us on hold for anything but the shortest rides.

Right now, I want to finish the Hollowed Ground American Byway ride. We had most of it finished before her incident but the last third is just hanging out there wait for us to finish. We might be able to slip the last part in this year… but it is getting tight.

Thank you again for following this blog!!!

motoamerica-logoMay 4-5 MotoAmerica motorcycle racing is at the Virginia International Raceway in Danville, VA.  I and the rest of the DawgHouse Motorcycle Radio “Pack” will be covering the races.

With press passes from MotoAmerica, we will be all over the event.  Expect MANY posts and “LIVE events” on my IJustWant2Ride Facebook and on my @IJustWant2Ride Twitter account.  Who knows I might just even post to my under utilized Instagram account.

Phil will be posting to the DawgHouse twitter and Facebook pages if you want to see all the things we are up to.

You can count on a FB Live broadcast of the start of the MotoAmerica Superbike race on Saturday, right from the pit lane wall!

From my POV MotoAmerica has the best motorcycle racing in the world this year.  Any of motoamerica live6 riders could win week to week, assuming they hit the setup.  JD Beach won this weeks American Flat Track race, a win with the superbikes would be a true feat!  You can catch both the Saturday and Sunday MotoAmerica Superbike races on Fox Sports 2 (3PM EST) or streaming on MotoAmerica Live +…. you might even see me on TV!

If you have listened to our DawgHouse Motorcycle Radio podcast you would have heard us rant about MotoAmerica. Not so much the racing but the fact that it is so hard to see!

It was on the BEIN network and BEIN just did not have much access to American households.

THAT HAS ALL CHANGED FOR 2019!

MotoAmerica has reached a deal Fox Sports 2, available on almost all cable packages, nearly 57 million home! Fox Sports 2 will offer all 10 rounds Super Bike racing live or same day. Each race will be rerun within 7 days. That is a big upgrade over last year.

BUT WAIT THERE IS MORE!!

NBC Sports Network is going present “Inside MotoAmerica” with 11 shows of race highlights and features from the MotoAmerica.

MotoAmerica President Wayne Rainey stated…. “We’d like to thank NBC Sports for their interest in the MotoAmerica Series and we can’t wait to showcase our racing, personalities and MotoAmerica lifestyle to our fans, both new and established, with a little different flair. We know the shows will be well-received by our fans, our teams, sponsors and racers, and we’re excited to get the season started.”

Inside MotoAmerica will premier Saturday April 13 at 11PM.

BUT WAIT …. EVEN MORE!!!

If you have cut the cable and don’t have access to Fox Sports 2 you can still get all the races!

MotoAmerica Live + is the series live streaming package. If you have internet access you now have race access.

MotoAmerica Live + will provide you with all 10 rounds of the MotoAmerica series plus MA-LiveLogo-vertical-570x356the practice sessions, the qualifying sessions and the races in all five classes. Plus, features, interviews and more in a package that will provide fans with all the on-and off-track action.

If MotoAmerica Live + interests you… The annual package will be available for purchase for a pre-sale price of $49.95 through March 31. After March 31, the season pass will be available for $69.95 with single-event (weekend) packages available for $9.95.

We, at the DawgHouse Motorcycle Radio, have been preaching for a long time the need for this kind of change for fans to have more access. We are on board with the changes and are looking forward to the season.

The first race this year is April 6th from Road Atlanta.

I think the racing in Super Bike in 2019 is going to be AWESOME, but the series NEEDS YOU to step up. Set your DVR or buy the package and watch the races!!!
