The emergency call system (eCall) may have been deactivated due to a software programming error.

Summary Honda (American Honda Motor Co.) is recalling certain 2024 Honda NC750X motorcycles. Due to an improper manufacturing process, the inner structure of the front tire may loosen and unravel, which can result in a loss of vehicle handling and control. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 119, “New Pneumatic Tires – Other Than Passenger Cars.”

Summary: Pure Sports Distributing Inc. (Yamaha of Hawaii) is recalling certain 2022 MT-09 Tracer GT, 2021-2025 MT-09 SP, 2021-2025 MT-09, 2022-2023 and 2025 MT-10 SP, 2022-2024 MT-10 and 2022-2024 XSR900 motorcycles. The brushes inside the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) may slide excessively due to improper ECU programming, possibly causing unstable idling or an engine stall.

Remedy: Dealers will reprogram the engine control unit (ECU) software and replace the TPS, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. Owners may contact Yamaha of Hawaii customer service at 1-808-498-8248.

Summary: Harley-Davidson Motor Company (Harley-Davidson) is recalling certain Fairing Lowers installed on 2023-2025 Touring and CVO Touring, Inverted Forks installed on 2025 FLHXU, and Fairing Lowers and Inverted Forks kits installed on 2024-2025 FLHX and FLTRX motorcycles. These accessories may obstruct the visibility of the front and side reflectors. As such, motorcycles equipped with these accessories fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

The side case latch hooks may not snap properly into the lock, which can result in the case lid opening, and possibly detaching from the motorcycle.

Remedy Dealers will repair the locking mechanism and hinges of the side cases, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed May 13, 2024. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

Summary Kawasaki Motor Corp., U.S.A. (KMC) is recalling certain 2023-2024 ZX400S and ZX400P (2023 Ninja ZX-4RR KRT Edition, 2024 Ninja ZX-4R, and 4RR) motorcycles. The spark plugs may have been damaged during the vehicle manufacturing process, which can result in unstable idling, hesitation, and engine stalling.

Remedy Dealers will replace all four spark plugs, free of charge. The manufacturer has not yet provided a schedule for recall notification. Owners may contact KMC customer service at 1-866-802-9381. KMC’s number for this recall is MC27-04.

The dealer accessory top case locking flap may not function correctly, which can result in the top case detaching from the motorcycle.

Remedy Dealers will inspect and tighten the brake pipe flare nut connection and adjust the brake fluid level, as necessary, free of charge. Summary Cake 0 Emission USA Inc (Cake) is recalling certain 2018-2023 Kalk, Kalk Ink, and Kalk work motorcycles. The lithium-ion battery cells can fail while charging.

Remedy Cake will replace the battery pack, free of charge. As an interim action, owners will be instructed to check their battery serial number and if necessary, follow interim charging instructions until the remedy battery is available. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed January 19, 2024. A second notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available, anticipated March 2024. The headlight low beam attachment points may break, shifting the reflector out of position, and resulting in insufficient illumination. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

An incorrect position of the front brake master cylinder primary port could cause the port to become blocked, and result in a gap between the front brake pad and discs. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 122, “Motorcycle Brake Systems.”

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment.”

Remedy Dealers will update the software on Touring and CVO Touring motorcycles. On Trike and CVO Trike motorcycles, a new pressure switch will also be installed. All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed October 26, 2022. Owners may contact Harley-Davidson customer service at 1-800-258-2464. Harley-Davidson’s number for this recall is 0635.
