Motorcycle Recall July 2026: BMW, KTM, Gas Gas, Husqvarna
A new round of motorcycle recalls has been posted by the NHTSA, including motorcycles from BMW, KTM, Gas Gas, Husqvarna. If you own one of these motorcycles, check your VIN before your next ride.
Be aware that this list of motorcycle recalls is for the United States over the last 30 days. There is no way I could cover the entire world.
But in the world of global manufacturing, if a motorcycle is being recalled in one country there is a good chance it is under recall in others.

Components ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Summary: BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2024 S 1000 RR US, and 2020-2026 S 1000 RR motorcycles. The vibration of the motorcycle may cause an internal component of the ignition lock to fail, which can cause the instrument display, rear lighting, and other systems such as ABS to fail, or cause an engine stall while riding.
Remedy: The remedy is currently under development. Letters informing owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed September 14, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. Owners may contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov beginning September 14, 2026.

Manufacturer KTM North America, Inc.
Components SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC
Summary: KTM North America, Inc. (KTM) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Husqvarna FE 501S, Husqvarna FE 350S, 2024 GasGas ES 350, and GasGas ES 500 motorcycles. During backwards rolling, the brake caliper may crack near the primary pin casting, which may cause the caliper to break when riding.
Remedy: Dealer will replace the rear brake caliper, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed September 2, 2026. Owners may contact KTM and Husqvarna customer service at 1-888-985-6090. Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) involved in this recall will become searchable on NHTSA.gov July 15, 2026.
