With the dearth of motorcycle related TV shows we can count on OCC to pop back on our sets. Love it or hate it OCC is coming back this time on the A&E Network.

While there is nothing on their website I have seen several adverts for the new show. You can check out the OCC-American Xtreme Facebook page for a little background.

The most obvious change from the older OCC variants to this Xtreme version is …. There is no Paul Jr in the cast. It looks like all the other regulars are back including Senior, Rick, Nick, Jason, and Jim Quin. Paul Jr’s brother Mikey is listed as part of the cast as well, which is good as Mikey always puts a spin on things that you might not expect.

But that is not the only big casting news Rusty Coones, late of Sons of Anarchy, is on the show as well. Guess the producers think the show needs another bit of spice. Rusty has a long past with motorcycles beyond SOA to include owing his own bike shop and running with the Hells Angles.

I have loved and barely liked the different OCC shows. Regardless of your thoughts on the Teutuls at least we get some new Motorcycle TV.

naked speed

If you keep up even a little with my blog you know I review every motorcycle television show I can. I watched the first episode of the new motorcycle show, Naked Speed this past weekend. I am not going to do a full review until I have seen at least three full shows but thought I might pass on my first thought regarding the show.

A new format for “Café Racer TV”,,,,,, Which is not a bad thing. 🙂

Where has all the motorcycle television shows gone?  Just a couple of years ago we had lots of motorcycle themed shows to watch.  My DVR had plenty of shows recorded and ready to watch. Not so much anymore.

I recently started to notice commericals for a new motorcycle show on the Velocity Channel called Naked Speed.  But, if you look on the Velocity Channel’s website you will find no indication that there is any motorcycle programing let alone Naked Speed.  Naked Speed will premier January 28th at 10PM EST (based on the following You Tube vid).  Bryan Fuller and Mike Seate (of Café Racer Magazine and Café Racer TV) of the show. Mr. Fuller has been on other TV shows to include Café Racer and Overhaulin’.

From what I can gather the show is about making stripped down, modern and retro, motorcycles go fast!  So Café Racer, Naked Bikes, Street Fighters all are going to be highlighted on the show. Can’t get much better then that!

If you watch Fast n’ Loud you know that Richard and Arron do hot motorcycles in addition to hot cars.  So I am not surprised when they have a motorcycle themed show or event.

Looks like, according to Bubba’s Facebook page, that the Gas Monkeys will host stunt man extraordinaire Bubba Blackwell.  I think the show is going to air on the 5th of January, but check your local listing to be sure.

After a great period of motorcycle themed TV there has been a real dearth of shows featuring our avocation lately. As we all know ratings rule and that is way I always mention shows that feature motorcycles, motorcyclists or bikers in any significant way.

A few days ago I posted about a movie I ran across Sit Stay Ride: The Story of America’s Sidecar Dogs a documentary on dogs that ride in the side car.

Now I have a run across another move. In Best Bar in America a writer is motorcycling across the west in a writing assignment to find the best bar in America. The trailer really intrigued me and you might be interested in it as well, or not.  I will order both right after the New Year starts and let you know what I think about them.

Well I guess that if we have heard nothing for this long that the show is no more…., but thought you might like this.

If you watched any motorcycle TV at all I am sure you saw an episode or two of American Thunder (or Two Wheel Thunder as it was known for a single year on Discovery) it was on for 14 years.  The Thunder has been off the air for nearly 5 years.

Well…. The hosts of Thunder, Michele Smith and Jay Barbieri, are attempting to revive the show.  They are not looking for the traditional network TV route but are using a KickStarter campaign to raise money to create an Internet only show.  This is point where the motorcycling community can help support Jay and Michele.

If you liked the Thunder and want to see another version of that show consider contributing to the cause.  Go to the “Bring Back Two Wheel Thunder” KickStarter site and pony up.

What was your favorite Thunder moment?  Mine was the time that Jay rode through a snow storm on the way to a Daytona Bike Rally.
